Free Diglett Pokemon Crochet Amigurumi Pattern

Skill Level:   Intermediate.  

A Diglett (Japanese: ディグダ Digda) is a Ground-type Pokémon introduced in Generation I. It evolves into Dugtrio starting at level 26. In Alola, Diglett has a Ground/Steel-type regional form. It evolves into Alolan Dugtrio starting at level 26.

Materials:  

8 Ply/DK/Light Worsted weight yarn:  

• Brown Yarn for the body 
• Stone Yarn for the Ground 
• Pink Yarn to for the nose  
• Black Felt for the Eyes  
• White Acrylic Paint for Eyes  
• 4.0 Crochet Hook  
• Yarn Needle  
• Scissors  
• Stuffing  
• Glue
• Stitch Marker  

Abbreviations   

(US terminology)

sc: single crochet

sc2tog:  sc decrease 

st: stitch

dc: double crochet

BODY

Rnd 1:  6 sc in magic ring [6]

Rnd 2:  2 sc in each st around [12]

Rnd 3:  (sc 1, 2 sc in next st), 6 times [18]

Rnd 4:  (sc 2, 2 sc in the next st) 6 times [24]

Rnd 5:  (sc 3, 2 sc in the next st) 6 times [30]

Rnd 6-17:  sc in each st around [30]

Rnd 18:  (sc 3, sc2tog in the next st) 6 times [24]

Change to Stone Coloured Yarn

Turn so that you are now working in the opposite direction

Using the Bobble Stitch Technique:

Rnd 19:  dc 5 into the same stitch, then yarn over and pull through all loops on your hook, then sc in the next st. 13 times. [13 bobbles]

Your last sc will be located in the st under the first bobble st you made.

Rnd 20:  dc 5 into the st next to the first bobble and continue around 13 times.  [13 bobbles] 

Rnd: 21:  2sc in each st around (there is a stitch under each bobble and one in-between each bobble. [52]

Rnd 22:  sc in each st around however only in the front loops [52]

Rnd 23:  (sc 2, sc2tog in the next st) 13 times [39]

Rnd 24:  (sc 1, sc2tog in the next st) 13 times [26]

Stuff

Rnd 25:  (sc 1, sc2tog in the next st) 8 times, sc in last 2 sts [18]

Rnd 26:  (sc 1, sc2tog in the next st) 6 times [12]

Fasten off and weave in tail.

NOSE 

Pink Yarn and 4.0mm Hook

Rnd 1:  6 sc in magic ring [6]

Rnd 2:  sc in each st around [6]

Cut yarn, leave tail to weave onto face of Diglett. 

ASSEMBLE 

Using a Yarn Needle, Attach the nose to the body.

Cut out two oblong eyes with black felt.  

Glue the eyes onto the Diglett.  

Once the glue is dry, using white acrylic paint, add two small dots onto the black felt eyes.
